It was a pretty good performance for a young pitcher or any pitcher for that matter. Sophomore pitcher Jo Jo Fox pitched seven innings of one-hit ball as the Mayfield Lady Cardinals traveled to Hopkinsville and rolled past the UHA Lady Blazers Tuesday evening 10-0.
Fox struck out ten Lady Blazers and walked none in her seven innings of work.
The only UHA hit came in the top of the seventh when Jaila Batey reached base on a single to left field. Batey was one of only two Lady Blazer batters to reach base.
The Lady Blazers had their struggles in the field, as they were charged with six errors in the game.
Mayfield scored in every inning but the second, as they plated their ten runs on a total of six hits.
The loss drops UHA to 6-8 on the year. They close out the regular season Friday on the road at Fort Campbell.
