Caldwell County’s Billy Wallace and doubles partner Grayden Miller made it to the state tennis tournament last year by reaching the semifinal round of the regional tourney in Henderson.
That helped the Tigers claim the 2nd Region team championship a year ago.
Wallace, now a senior, says the goal is to get back to state again this year.
Wallace and Miller will play in the regional tournament next week in Hopkinsville.
Wallace is a two-sport athlete at Caldwell County.
He was also a member of the Tiger football team, which turned in a 7-4 showing this past season.
Wallace was fifth on the team in tackles with 49, including 10 solo stops. He also returned an interception for a touchdown.
Wallace and the Caldwell tennis team play their final home match of the 2022 season on Tuesday against Hopkinsville.
