
Caldwell County seniors Ethan Weatherspoon and Isaiah Joyner set school records Monday night at Muhlenberg County’s Senior Night Meet at Mustang Stadium in Greenville.
Weatherspoon became the first Caldwell athlete to go under 11 seconds in the 100-meter dash, winning the event in a time of 10.97 seconds.
Meanwhile, Joyner smashed the school long jump record with a winning leap of 21 feet, 4 inches.
Joyner also won the triple jump at 40 feet, 5 inches.
Giovantie Riley was first in the 200-meter dash in 23.59 seconds.
Caldwell’s guys placed third out of five teams. Daviess County won the boys’ team competition with 210 points. Muhlenberg (123) was second with Caldwell (117), Todd County Central (98) and McLean County (50) rounding out the scores.

In addition, Caldwell was third in the 4×800-meter relay; fourth in the 4×200-meter relay in 1:39.65; fifth in the 4×100 relay in 50.37 seconds; and sixth in the 4×400 relay in 4:00.68.
The Class 2A 1st Region track meet is Saturday at Paducah Tilghman.
