Madisonville (12-16) was 10-6 against region teams in 2022 and will be looking for its first win in the region tournament since 2016.

Henderson County (21-10) enters the region tournament having won seven of their last eight games. The Colonels were 12-3 against region competition.

The Colonels split a pair of games with the Tigers during the season, losing 7-1 on April Fool’s Day and returning the favor with a 5-2 win three days later. Henderson County, last year’s runner-up, is looking for its first region title in nine years.

Hopkinsville was 13-15 during the season but 7-5 against Second Region teams. The Tigers most recently won region titles in 2019 and 2015.

Caldwell County (15-8) won the 7th District title and plays a Union County team that beat them 3-2 in the first week of the season.  Caldwell has won two region titles since 2016 and finished as runner-up in 2019.

Union County (17-15) was 12-7 against region competition in 2022. The Braves, who won region titles in 2011 and 2014, last won a game at the region tourney in 2018 when they finished as runner-up.

Christian County (26-7) is tied with Lyon County for the most wins in the region with 26. They have one more win against region teams (16-1) than the Lyons (15-3).  The Colonels are looking for their first tourney win since 2019 which was one year after their last region title.

The Colonels will play Trigg County (13-18) who is back in the region tournament for the first time in four seasons.  Trigg lost to Christian County 9-4 on March 15 and 10-7 on March 26.

The semifinals will be played Monday at Hopkinsville High School at 5:30 and 7:30. The championship game will be at 7:00 on Tuesday.

If Madisonville wins its opener with Lyon County, the tournament will be pushed back to Tuesday and Wednesday because Madisonville’s graduation is scheduled for Monday.
