After falling behind Nathaniel Crick of Madisonville-North Hopkins by dropping the first set, Caldwell County’s Ryan Hammett rallied to take the second set, then won a tiebreaker to claim the 2nd Region singles championship Thursday night in Hopkinsville.
Hammett withstood a long rally on match point to finally finish the match with a 2-6, 6-4, 10-6 victory.
That win also gave Caldwell County the team championship.
