Bell Heads to State in Four Events, Leads Lady Colonels at Region

Autumn Bell will finish her storied high school track and field career in four events at the Class 3A State Track and Field Championships after a pair of wins and a pair of second-place finishes at the region meet Tuesday in Owensboro.

Bell finished first in the 200-meter run and the triple jump. She recorded second-place finishes in both the 100 meters and the long jump – achieving personal best times and distances in both.

Jayda Johnson finished in third place in the 400-meter run and will have to see if her time will qualify her for the state meet as an at-large entrant.

Buoyed by Bell’s top finishes, Christian County finished in seventh place as a team with 46 points, just four points behind sixth-place Hopkinsville.  Henderson County won the region title with 122 points.

CHRISTIAN COUNTY REGION FINISHES

Autumn Bell – 1st in the 200-meter dash (26.38); 1st in the triple jump (36-03); 2nd in the 100-meter dash (12.89); 2nd in the long jump (16-03.50)

Jayda Johnson – 3rd in the 400-meter dash (1:04.03)

Kaidence Atwell – 8th in the 200-meter dash (29.41)

London Hendrith – 9th in the 100-meter dash (14.16)

Julia Munoz – 9th in the 300-meter hurdles (1:01.12); 10th in the long jump (13-05.5)

Jakiyah Oatts – 11th in the 400-meter run (1:09.82)

Alyssa Adler – 14th in the 1600-meter run (7:57.39)

The 400-meter relay team finished in 5th place with a time of 54.63 seconds.

The 800-meter relay team came in 5th place in 1:55.94.

The 1600-meter relay team finished in ninth place in 4:49.33.
