After walking off the mound with Christian County trailing 6-1 with two outs in the fifth inning on Tuesday, 2nd Region Player of the Year Elijah Underhill might have been surprised to find himself back on the hill in the bottom of the 7th looking to nail down a region title for the Colonels.
The stunning turnaround mirrored the Colonels’ resurrection from an 8-20 season last year to a 2022 region title, and afterward, Underhill said it’s all down to offseason dedication.
