University Heights Academy senior Ethan Alexander got a tough draw in the first round of the 2022 KHSAA Tennis State Championships presented by UK HealthCare on Tuesday.
Owen Brown of Grayson County is one of eight 9-16 seeds for the state tournament, with the opening round played at the Hilary J. Boone Tennis Complex on the campus of the University of Kentucky in Lexington.
Alexander saw his season come to an end with a 6-0, 6-0 setback.
Alexander earned his berth in the state tournament by reaching the semifinal round in the 2nd Region tournament.
Brown was runner-up in the 3rd Region tourney.
