Colonel Relay Teams Finish Strong at State Meet

Christian County’s 400-meter relay team equaled a season-best time Saturday at the Clark’s Pump-N-Save Class 3A State Track and Field Championships at the University of Kentucky.

The 400-meter relay team of Jarae Leavell, Jaiden Northington, Zamien Matlock, and Dahzmeon Brown ran the 400-meter relay in 45.23 seconds which netted them a 19th place finish. The time is identical to their region meet time and equals a season-best.

The same group finished in 19th place in the 800-meter relay in a time of 1:34.05.

In the lone individual event run by a Colonel male athlete Saturday, Northington finished 10th in the 400-meter run in a time of 51.35 seconds, just missing the medal podium by .41 seconds.  He also missed her personal best by .15 seconds which is the 10th fastest time in school history.
