The Hopkinsville Tigers finished the first day of the Best of the West 7-on-7 football tournament with three straight wins on Friday afternoon.
That was after the squad had dropped its final three games in the morning pool play on Friday.
Hoptown started the day with a 22-13 victory over Kenwood from Clarksville.
But the Tigers fell in their next three tilts, bowing to Logan County 21-9, Owensboro Catholic 28-11 and Daviess County 21-13.
Teams were then reseeded for pool play in the afternoon based on the morning results.
Hopkinsville beat Whites Creek from Nashville 22-10, then rolled past Muhlenberg County 29-3.
The Tigers finished the day with a 22-12 win over West Creek of Clarksville.
The Best of the West moves to a single-elimination format to determine a champion on Saturday, with Hopkinsville set to face Owensboro Catholic at 10 a.m.
The event is being held at the Stadium of Champions and Tie Breaker Park in Hopkinsville.
