Cathryn Brown holds the lead after one round at the Cullan Brown Invitational at Calvert City Golf and Country Club.
Brown, who is entering her senior season at Lyon County and is the sister of the tournament’s namesake, leads the girls’ high school division by one shot after 18 holes.
Brown carded a 1-under-par 71 in Monday’s opening round. She played the back nine first, shooting a 1-under 35 on that side before finishing at even on the front nine.
Brown’s round included five birdies and four bogeys.
Marshall County sophomore Katie Roberts is just one shot back after an even-round 72.
Macey Brown of Owensboro, who will be a freshman golfer at the University of Indianapolis this fall, is third after a 2-over 74 on Monday. Brown was the 2020 Kentucky state champion at Apollo.
The second round of the Cullan Brown Invitational begins Tuesday morning in Calvert City.
