
Former Marshall County High School golfer for Jay Nimmo scored a convincing win Tuesday at the Bluegrass Golf Tour’s Cullan Brown Invitational played at the Calvert City Country Club.
Nimmo shot a 5-under-par 67 Tuesday to finish the two-day event at 4-under par. His scorecard included seven birdies and two bogeys and included a 31 on the front nine.
Nimmo, who transferred to Murry State University over the summer, finished nine shots ahead of second place Harrison Sallee who played his high school golf at McLean County.
Former Hopkinsville High golfer James Folz, who plays at Centre College, finished in third place at six over par. Folz shot a 1-over par 73 on Tuesday. His scorecard included a pair of eagles on the par-five 17th and the par-5 ninth hole. He also had four birdies.
Former Hopkinsville High golfer Will Binkley, who is headed to Brescia University this fall, finished the two-day event at eight over par. He shot a round of 75 on Tuesday which included three birdies.
