Zach Yenser’s plan when he got to the NFL was to keep coaching in the NFL.
Yet he left the San Francisco 49ers in February to become the new offensive line coach at Kentucky.
“My ultimate goal is still to be an O-line coach in the NFL,” Yenser said Tuesday at the Louisville Quarterback Club. “That is my coaching goal.”
However, his immediate goal is a bit different and one UK fans should appreciate.
“Me and my wife have talked about it. I want to watch my 9-year-old and 7-year-old graduate from high school in Lexington,” he said.

Actually, it would be West Jessamine High School for graduation because Yenser lives in Jessamine County close to Champions at Keene Run golf course.
“I want to do a good enough job here and help Kentucky have continued success so my boys can graduate here,” Yenser said.
“This is literally one of the best jobs in college football, especially for an O-line coach. It’s in the SEC, the only conference where I would have left the NFL to coach. You have a pro-style offense. Mark Stoops is a great coach to work for. You live in Lexington, or close to Lexington.”
“For me, Kentucky just checked all the boxes. The NFL can wait now. I want to do a great job here and watch my kids graduate high school in the state of Kentucky.”
