Playing in one of the tougher pools at the Bluegrass State Games, the University Heights Academy Lady Blazers picked up a win in the opening day’s pool play contests.
UHA beat Williamsburg 21-16, 21-14 in its opener before falling to defending 12th Region champion West Jessamine 21-10, 21-6.
On Saturday, the Lady Blazers lost to 5th Region runner-up Elizabethtown 21-11, 21-13. UHA also lost to Tates Creek 21-14, 21-17, and to Washington County 21-11, 21-13.
UHA closed out play in Lexington with a Sunday loss to Ashland Blazer.
The Lady Blazers will open the 2022 season on August 15 at Hopkins County Central.
