Caitlyn Hooks is a pageant pro. She has a collection of tiaras and sashes that rival anyone in western Kentucky. But don’t let her good looks fool you. The Lyon County senior isn’t afraid to roll up her sleeves in the classroom or on the family farm and has her sights set on a career in agriculture.
Hooks is a senior at Lyon County High School where she maintains a 4.0 GPA and is a member of the cheerleading squad.
She grew up a talented dancer where at a young age she was a member of the Paducah-based Beverly Rogers Academy of Dance and won awards on the national stage.
That morphed into cheerleading where last year, she received the Outstanding Dancer award at the Lyon County cheerleading banquet. She was part of a group that cheered at the 2018 Citrus Bowl and was on the floor at Rupp Arena in the spring when the Lyon County boys’ basketball team made its magical run to the Sweet 16.

When she isn’t cheering, she is busy on the pageant circuit. This year alone she has been crowned Miss Teen Purchase District and Miss Western Kentucky State Fair which allows her the chance to participate in the statewide fair pageant later this month in Louisville.
Last month, she was fourth runner-up at the Kentucky National American Miss pageant and was named a Dream Model winner. Caitlyn’s platform when competing is Bringing Arts to Rural Communities.
She still has several more pageants on the horizon in the coming months.

But for now, she heads back to the classroom for her final year at LCHS. She is an officer in FBLA and a member of the Beta Club in addition to her duties on the yearbook staff.
She has her eyes on becoming an agriculture teacher and plans to attend the University of Kentucky after high school. Over the summer, she was one of 42 students who participated in the Kentucky Farm Bureau’s Institute for Future Agricultural Leaders. The five-day conference is designed to expose high school students to college life while helping them explore the different fields of study for careers in agriculture.
Caitlyn is the daughter of Chris and Anzie Hooks of Fredonia.
