When Kentucky plays its first exhibition basketball game in the Bahamas Wednesday night, UK Radio Network voice Tom Leach will have a new partner — former UK All-American Jack Givens.
Leach worked with Mike Pratt the last 21 years but he passed in June and now Givens will be the analyst for the four games in the Bahamas.
Leach said he actually did radio work with Givens for the Boys State Tournament about 30 years ago when former UK radio play-by-play announcer Ralph Hacker identified Givens as a former UK player with broadcasting skills.
“Jack brings a lot of the same qualities that Mike brought as a former player who loves the program and knows the history of the players and the program,” Leach said.
“He will be able to give insights on current players but in a historical context. I think he will be outstanding.”
