Roster changes are usually a constant at Fort Campbell High School, but 2022 is shaping up to be different with almost all of last season’s Lady Falcons’ soccer team ready to take the field in Thursday’s opener at Muhlenberg County.

Only one senior graduated from last season’s 1-8-1 team, the first for the Lady Falcons after sitting out 2020 due to Covid.  Fort Campbell’s 2021 campaign ended with a loss to Hopkinsville in the 8th-District tournament.  The program hasn’t picked up a postseason victory since beating UHA in 2014.

Senior Abigail Eastes led the team last season in goals (7) and assists (3) on the way to All-District recognition.  Anna Allen also returns to the attack after scoring four goals and notching two assists last year as a freshman. In addition, sophomores Keelin Gray and Charlize Cruz will look to build on last season’s return of five combined goals.

The Lady Falcons can rely on the experience of senior Emma Gray in goal.  Last year she was busy, making over 18 saves per game while giving up just under five goals per contest.

Fort Campbell starts the season with two matches on the road before meeting Crittenden County in the first round of the 2nd Region All “A” Classic. Then, three straight district matchups begin with a visit from Hopkinsville on August 30.
