The UHA Lady Blazers match against Logan County Saturday morning was almost over before players got good and warmed up. The Lady Blazers scored five goals in the first 9:15 of the match and rolled on from there, picking up a 10-0 win over the Lady Cougars on the pitch at UHA.
The match ended with still 30 minutes left due to the 10-goal rule.
It was only twenty seconds in when Anna Fourqurean scored from the left side to put UHA up 1-0. Her sister Addi found the net just a minute later to extend the lead to 2-0.
Audrey Perry then got her day going with a shot from the right-hand side at 05:30 to make it 3-0. Just 45 seconds later Addi Fourqurean would score for the second time to make it 4-0.
The early blitz was capped off by a goal from Cecilia Langhi at the 9:15 mark that would run the lead out to 5-0.
The early five-goal lead allowed Coach Michael Parker to sub liberally for the rest of the first half.
Audrey Perry took a pass in the middle of the field and found the net again at 23:15 to extend the lead to 6-0. Late in the half, Maggie Colburn would sneak in a shot just over the fingertips of the Lady Cougar goalie that gave UHA a 7-0 lead at the break.
It would then take just ten minutes of the second half for the Lady Blazers to put the match away. Audrey Grise hit the net from the left side to make it 8-0. Audrey Perry scored her third of the day from the middle to take it to 9-0. Audrey Grise then put the match away when she drew the goalie out and then placed a deft crossing shot into the right side of the net.
The Lady Blazers afforded Logan County very few chances to get off a shot on goal, as the midfield and back line play just shut the door on the Lady Cougars time after time.
With the win the Lady Blazers improve to 1-1. Up next, is a Monday night home match against Lyon County in the opening round of the girls’ 2nd Region All A Classic.
