Lots of scoring must run in the family.

Caldwell freshman Aliya Towns had three goals Tuesday night in the Lady Tigers’ 3-1 win over University Heights in the All A Classic soccer tournament.

Towns’ brother is Derrin Boyd, who has three seasons of college basketball eligibility remaining at Lipscomb University in Nashville. Boyd is fourth on Caldwell’s all-time scoring list with 1,911 points and tallied 945 points in two seasons at Georgetown College before transferring to Lipscomb.

Meanwhile, Towns has six goals so far this season for the Lady Tiger soccer team, which is off to a 3-0 start.

Her hat trick on Tuesday helped Caldwell end a 14-match winless streak against UHA which dated back to the 2011 2nd Region tournament.

YSE caught up with Towns following her big game.
