After seeing medalist honors in the 2nd Region All A Classic golf tournament slip away on the 18th hole last season, Conlee Lindsey wasn’t taking any chances this year.

On a day when the course was difficult and scores were high, the University Heights Academy sophomore fired a 2-over-par 74 to claim the regional championship at Deer Lakes Golf Course in Salem.

That was 13 shots better than her sister, Rheagan Lindsey, who was runner-up at 87.

The Lindseys helped UHA waltz to the team title over runner-up Crittenden County.

Conlee Lindsey ate up the front nine holes in Saturday’s 2nd Region All A tourney. She carded a 3-under 33 on that side of the course.

UHA’s entire team qualifies for the All A state tournament Sept. 10 at the University Club of Arlington in Richmond.

Qualifying individually for state (the top two players not on the championship team) were Crittenden County’s Addie Hatfield and Brylee Conyer, who shot 99 and 102, respectively.
