It was a solid performance for the UHA Lady Blazers over the weekend at the Apollo Summer Slam. The Lady Blazers would go 4-2 on the weekend and claim the Bronze Bracket championship in the tournament.
The Lady Blazers began play with a pair of pool play matches Friday night. UHA dropped a two set match to a very good Whitesville Trinity team. The Lady Raiders took the match 25-13 and 25-16.
University Heights picked up a solid win Friday night against 1st Region foe Carlisle County. This one belonged to the Lady Blazers 25-20 and 25-7.
UHA then closed out the pool play portion of the event taking on Logan County Saturday morning. The Lady Cougars would end up taking the match in straight sets 25-13 and 25-17.
With the results from their pool play, the Lady Blazers would then move into Saturday’s Bronze Bracket, where they would not lose for the rest of the day. The Lady Blazers would go on to claim the championship of the Bronze Bracket with wins over Clarksville Northeast (25-15, 26-24), Owensboro (14-25, 25-22, 15-13), and Breckinridge County (26-24, 25-22)
The Lady Blazers move to 5-2 on the year. They are set to return to action Tuesday evening when they take on Heritage Christian Academy.
