Todd County Central’s Preston Rager came “oh so close” to earning a berth in the All A Classic state golf tournament Monday afternoon at Dale Hollow State Park. Rager finished his nine-hole round with a score of 37, which was good enough to place him in a tie for the 2nd individual qualifying spot for the state tournament.

Bo Shelton, of Glasgow, actually had the day’s best round with a 33. However, his team won the team title, which sent him on to Richmond as a part of the winning team. Jacob Ryan, of Monroe County, then became the first individual qualifier with a round of 34.

Hayden England, of Monroe County, finished tied with Rager with a round of 37. The two then went to a playoff to determine the final individual qualifier. England would win the playoff on the second hole to take the final slot for the state tournament.

Glasgow won the team title over Monroe County in a tiebreaker. Both teams had finished with scores of 150. Todd Central finished in fourth place with a 163.

Todd County individual scores on the day were:

Preston Rager – 37
Jase Paul Hampton – 40
Jacob Brandon – 42
Cole Sawyers – 44
Noah Rager – 45
