After winning four of their last five matches, the Christian County Colonels hit a bit of a buzzsaw Thursday evening. Regional contender Madisonville-North Hopkins looked every bit the part as they took down the Colonels 10-0 in Madisonville.
J.J. Brown scored twice in the first 40 minutes the Maroons took a 5-0 halftime lead. Ivan Juarez, Maverick Peyton, and Logan Terry also found the net for Madisonville in the opening half.
The Maroons came out and kept their foot on the gas in the second half. J.J. Brown would score twice more to bring his total to four goals on the night. Eli Redpath, Dru Lile, and Maverick Peyton added 2nd half goals for the Maroons. It was Peyton’s second goal of the night that ended the match.
The Colonels drop to 4-3 with the loss.
Christian County is set to be back in action Monday when they host Murray at the Stadium of Champions.
