Maybe the loss to Logan County in the season opener got the Todd County Central Lady Rebels’ attention just a little bit. The Lady Rebels were in fine form Saturday as they began the day with a sweep of Owensboro Catholic. The match was part of a three-team gathering in Elkton involving the Lady Rebels, the Lady Aces, and Caldwell County.
The match with O-Cath began with a tough set where the Lady Rebels would eventually take the 25-21 win.
Todd County Central won the second set a bit more handily, dispatching the Lady Aces 25-18 to go up two sets to none.
The Lady Rebels would then close out the match with a 26-24 win, completing the sweep.
The “Ladies of L” were a force on the attack for the Lady Rebels. Lucy Chester (10), Lanie Bivins (9), and Lynnlee Jones (7) combined for 26 kills in the match. Addileigh Wofford added in 26 sets and 3 kills of her own.
