Hart County did accomplish one thing in their match against Todd County Central Saturday morning in the Scotties Classic. The Raiders became one of only three teams to score against the Rebels in their first eight matches of the season, but that was not enough to hand Todd Central its first loss.
Todd Central scored three goals in the final 20 minutes of the opening half and then cruised on out to a 3-1 win over Hart County in Glasgow.
The Rebels got on the board at the 20 minute mark in the opening half when Ric Garcia-Sears found Ivan Lopez open in the right side of the box and Lopez in turn found the net to give Todd Central a 1-0 lead.
Just five minutes later, Trey Osborne found the net on a far post cross that extended the lead to 2-0.
Then, right before the half, Zack Robinson dropped a pass in over the defense which Chi Herrera scored to give the Rebels the 3-0 halftime lead.
The Rebels’ defense would hold serve most of the second half until Hart County was able to sneak one in in the final minute of the match.
Otherwise, Jonah Rager was a wall again in the net for the Rebels coming up with five saves in the match.
The win moved the Rebels to 7-0-1 on the year.
