Three goals in the first 16 minutes enabled Henderson County to deal the Caldwell County Lady Tigers just their second loss of the season Tuesday.
The Lady Colonels (4-4-1) led 3-0 at halftime on the way to a 4-1 victory at Butler Stadium.
Caldwell, now 5-2-1, broke up Henderson’s shutout in the 60th minute when Mariah Merritt scored off an assist from Avery Ritchey.
But Henderson countered with a goal just a few minutes later and went on to post the win.
While the Lady Tigers played well, especially after the first 16 minutes, the Lady Colonels won their 17th straight match in the series.
Henderson holds a 19-2-2 advantage all-time against Caldwell.
The Lady Tigers will play at home again on Thursday, hosting Todd County Central from the 4th Region. That date will be varsity only and will start at 6:30 p.m.
