
The Christian County Lady Colonels picked up their first win of the volleyball season Thursday night and in doing so picked up a solid 8th District win. The Lady Colonels took control of their match against Fort Campbell early and never took their foot off the gas pedal as they swept past the Lady Falcons in Colonel Gym.
The Lady Colonels opened the night by taking the first set 25-12. The second set was more of the same, as Christian County won by the identical score to go up 2-0 in the match.
Christian County then wasted no time in closing out the match with a 25-8 win in the third set.
Hailey Sparks came up with a big night for Christian County, finishing with 9 kills, 6 digs, 2 assists, and 1 ace. Skylar Kirby added 8 kills and 7 aces. Peyton Owens finished the match with 20 assists, 7 aces, and 2 digs.
The Lady Colonels improve to 1-3 with the win. They head to Henderson Saturday to take part in the Jerry Mezur Spikefest.
Fort Campbell drops to 2-5 on the season. The Lady Falcons are back in action next Wednesday when they host Kenwood.
