
After winning three straight and four of their last five to nose above .500 for the first time this season, the Hopkinsville boys’ soccer team saw that run come to an end on Thursday at the hands of visiting Henderson County.
Hoptown drops its fifth match in a row with the Colonels, dating back to a 2-0 Tiger victory in the 2018 2nd-Region title game. Henderson improves to 6-1 and will be back in Hopkinsville on Saturday to play University Heights Academy.
Braeden Myers-Curry led the Colonel attack, finding the back of the net twice inside the first twenty minutes and providing a pair of assists for a 4-0 halftime advantage.
Myers-Curry scored the lone second-half goal off an assist from Jack Gentry in the 63rd minute. Gentry and Carter Denton also had goals in the contest, and Mason Workins notched an assist.
The Tigers slip to 4-4 ahead of a trip to Ohio County on Monday.
