It was a tough long holiday weekend for the Hopkinsville Lady Tigers. Two of three matches they had been scheduled to play during the Labor Day weekend were canceled and the other found the Lady Tigers running into a very good Murray Lady Tiger team.
Hoptown began the weekend in the Lady Colonel Classic, taking on Murray Saturday. Ava Flota, Peyton Wray, and Kallen Fuller scored two goals each as Murray took an early lead and then rolled on to a 9-0 win over Hopkinsville.
With weather impacting the schedule for the rest of the day at the Lady Colonel Classic, Hopkinsville’s second match Saturday ended up being canceled.
The Lady Tigers were then scheduled to host Caldwell County Monday night. The battle of Lady Tigers was canceled late in the day. Reports are that the ongoing shortage of officials in the area was the cause for the Labor Day cancellation.
Hopkinsville now stands at 1-7-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers are scheduled to travel to McLean County Tuesday evening.
