It is only appropriate that the initials for the Todd County Central Lady Rebels’ goalie are D.D., since it was the ‘D’ that made the difference for the Lady Rebels Tuesday night. Led by a big time performance from goalie Darby Delph, the Lady Rebels moved into first place in the 13th District with a 1-0 win over the Logan County Lady Cougars in Elkton.

The loss also avenged the Lady Rebels’ 2-1 overtime loss to Logan County back on August 16th.

Todd County scored the only goal of the night when Ava Scott found the net in the final minute of the opening half to put the Lady Rebels into the lead.

The second half was a defensive battle with both teams having opportunities to score, but neither team was able to break through over the final forty minutes.

Darby Delph ended up with nine saves on the night for Todd County Central. None of them bigger than the one she made in the final 60 seconds of the match.

Maria Rogers broke clear on a run for Logan County in the waning moments and approached the goal where it would be her and Delph to settle the matter. Delph came up with her final save of the night and secured the win for Todd County Central.

Todd Central moves to 3-5-1 overall on the season and 3-1 in 13th District play. Logan County and Franklin-Simpson are both 2-2, while Russellville stands at 1-3.

The Lady Rebels are now off until Saturday morning when they will take on Clinton County at 11am in the 4th Region All A Classic at Russellville High School.
