
For seventy minutes on Tuesday, the Trigg County boys’ soccer team stood toe-to-toe with hosts St. Mary. However, a pair of late Viking goals proved decisive in sending the Wildcats to a ninth loss of the season.
St. Mary improves to 3-5 with its third straight victory over the Wildcats.
Trigg trailed 1-0 at the half but tied the game after the break when Marlee Reeves was fouled in the box to earn a penalty kick. Senior defender Nik Kaster was on target from twelve yards out to notch his first goal of the season.
Wildcat goalkeeper Riley West made twelve stops on the night but was beaten twice over the final ten minutes to give St. Mary the win.
Trigg County welcomes Logan County to Cadiz on Saturday. The Wildcats were 4-2 winners over the Cougars back on August 13.
