Luke Shouse battled a wayward driver and a rain shower on the back nine to finish tied for 51st place at the All A Classic State Golf Tournament in Richmond Sunday.
For Shouse, it was his second trip to the All A state tourney and an improvement of 17 shots from his first trip as a freshman in 2019. The University Heights Academy senior finished with a 14-over par 86.
Shouse began play on the back nine and recorded three straight pars to make the turn at 6-over. Then the rains began. He did manage a birdie on the par-4 fourth hole but finished with a 44 on the front nine.
Lexington Christian Academy’s McKean Collins won the tournament with a 2-under 70.
