Hunter Reynolds Places Third at Class 2A State

Hunter Reynolds finished in a third place tie at Monday’s Class 2A State Golf Tournament hosted by the Owensboro Country Club.

Reynolds had two birdies and two bogeys on the front nine as he made the turn at even par. He had birdies on 14 and 16  and closed with pars on 17 and 18 for an even-par 36 on the back nine.

Haydon Reynolds tied for 28th place at 11-over par. He shot a 41 on the front nine and 42 on the back with one birdie in the round.

Ty Butts tied for 33rd place at 13-over par. He shot a 42 on the front nine and 43 on the back nine. He had a birdie on the par-3 8th hole.

Trevor Terrell shot a 101 to place 51st. He had consecutive pars on the front nine.

Mac McCormick shot a career-best 85. He birdied the second hole and made the turn at 41. He added a birdie on the 17th hole and came in with a 44. However, a score of 81 was submitted for McCormick to tournament officials, and he inadvertently signed for the incorrect score.

Taylor County’s Luke Coyle beat Allen County-Scottsville’s Rafe Blankenship on the second playoff hole after they both shot 3-under par.

Taylor County shot a team score of +11 to win the team title by 10 shots over Christian Academy Louisville.  Trigg County finished in seventh place at +53.
