The Todd County Central Lady Rebels faced their toughest competition of the season Thursday evening. The Lady Rebels traveled to Bowling Green to take on the unbeaten Lady Purples, who are ranked 7th in this week’s Kentucky volleyball rankings.
Not only were the Lady Purples unbeaten, but they had lost only eleven sets on the season.
While the Lady Rebels lost to Bowling Green in straight sets, they did make sure the Lady Purples had to work for it.
Bowling Green won the opening set 25-18 to take a one set to none lead in the match.
The Lady Rebels very nearly evened things up in the second set, before falling 25-23.
The Lady Purples would then close out the match with a 25-16 win in the third set.
Lanie Bivins had a big night for the Lady Rebels, finishing the night with 14 kills. Lucy Chester, who continues to be limited in her activities on the court due to a wrist injury, added six kills. Addileigh Wofford contributed 21 assists and three service aces for Todd County Central.
The Lady Rebels drop to 13-7 with the loss. They will be in Hopkinsville this weekend for the wRECk @ the Plex.
