The opening round matchups are now set girls’ 2nd Region soccer tournament which will be played next week at the Stadium of Champions. The draw was held by Zoom Friday morning.
The tournament will get underway Monday evening with two contests at 5:30.
On one field, 8th District champion University Heights will take on 7th District runner-up Caldwell County. The two teams met twice during the season, with Caldwell County winning both contests 3-1 and 1-0.
On the other field, 5th District champion Trigg County will battle 6th District runner-up Union County. The two teams hooked up September 27 with Trigg County rolling to an 8-0 win.
The other two first round contests are slated to be played at 7:30pm Monday.
On one field, 7th District champion Madisonville-North Hopkins will take on 5th District runner-up Crittenden County. The two did not play each other during the regular season.
The other field will have 6th District champion Henderson County squaring off against 8th District runner-up Hopkinsville. The two hooked up September 1 with Henderson County taking the 7-0 win.
The semifinals will be played Tuesday evening, both at 6:30pm, with the championship match set for Thursday night at 6:30.
Admission each night will be $8.50 with tickets available through Go Fan.
