
Heritage Christian is building its cross country program from the ground up and has solid numbers at the middle school and elementary school levels. Its high school program can now boast of having a state champion.
Sophomore Taylor Morris cruised to the win at the KCAA State Cross Country Meet in Independence Saturday. She covered the 3.1-mile course in 25:51, giving her the win by over two minutes.
Morris cut exactly three minutes off of her time from last year’s state meet when she finished in second place.
