Kentucky’s win over Mississippi State on Saturday night delivered multiple messages. The Wildcats can win different ways, whether it’s by the arm of Will Levis and the hands of his talented wide receivers or by the legs of running back Chris Rodriguez and the blocking ability of Kentucky’s offensive line. Kentucky also showed they can put together a dominant defensive performance against the No. 16 team in the country – a team that had scored over 40 points in three straight games heading in to Saturday’s contest.
The win wasn’t due to just one single person or any unit having a great game. Instead the win was a complete team effort and exactly what the Wildcats needed before their bye week. Kentucky will now do their best to get somewhat healthy before making the trip down to Knoxville for a matchup with the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers who are coming off a 52-49 win over the Alabama Crimson Tide on Saturday afternoon.
