
The pairings are now set for the 2nd Region volleyball tournament, which will get underway next week. The tournament is being played at Henderson County High School. The draw for the tournament was held Friday morning after the last of the district championships in the region were played Thursday evening.
Play begins Monday evening at 6:00 when 7th District champion Madisonville-North Hopkins (26-10) takes on 6th District runner-up Webster County (7-16). The two teams met back on September 1 with the Lady Maroons rolling to a 25-10, 25-11, and 25-8 win.
Monday night’s second quarterfinal will find 5th District champion Crittenden County (18-14) squaring off against 8th District runner-up Christian County (11-23). The two teams met once during the regular season with Christian County winning on September 13, 25-11, 30-28, 13-25, and 26-24.
Play resumes Tuesday with the final two quarterfinal round matches. The 6:00 match has 8th District champion University Heights (25-12) going up against 7th District runner-up Caldwell County (13-18). The two teams hooked up three times this season with UHA winning all three matches two sets to none.
The final quarterfinal match Tuesday evening at 7:30 will have 6th District champion Henderson County (26-10) taking on 5th District runner-up Livingston Central (5-18). The two teams did not play during the regular season.
The semifinals are set for 6:00 and 7:30 Wednesday evening, with the championship match set for Thursday evening at 6:00 at Henderson County High School.
