Kentucky looks like it could be at full strength offensively when the Wildcats play at No. 3 Tennessee Saturday.
Remember that star running back Chris Rodriguez was suspended the first four games.
Quarterback Will Levis missed game six with a foot injury.
Leading receiver Tayvion Robinson missed game seven with a leg injury.
Tackle Jeremy Flax also missed game six with an injury and then played just one series in game seven before leaving with the same injury.
That means only at Mississippi did UK start the game with its projected starting lineup — and even in that game Levis dislocated a finger and took a big hit to the head as well as injuring his foot that led to him missing the next game.
The Cats had last week off after bouncing back from losses to Ole Miss and South Carolina to beat Mississippi State without Flax and Robinson. Head coach Mark Stoops emphasized getting healthy was the biggest priority of the bye week and apparently it worked.
Flax, a junior, was injured late in the fourth quarter against Ole Miss on Oct. 1.
“It’s been a good week so far, so we’ll see (about Flax at Tennessee),” Stoops said Thursday.
“When he (Flax) has been healthy, you can see him getting to that point, we’re really starting to take it to another level. I think with the experience that he’s had, he’s helped get that position solidified and get better.
“He also brings a big physical presence, he’s a big, strong guy. Hopefully he’ll be at 100 percent, we’ll see.”
