Trigg County took to the competitive cheer mat for the first time in six years Saturday and finished in third place at the Region 1/2 cheer competition held at Owensboro High School.
Trigg County was edged by eight-tenths of a point by second place Hopkinsville, just missing a trip to the state cheer competition to be held next month.
Marshall County won the game day small division with a score of 92.4.
