Former Caldwell County Tiger Jabrion Spikes tied for game-high scoring honors Tuesday night as his Georgetown Tigers defeated previously-unbeaten Indiana University Southeast 79-55.
Spikes had 13 points, three rebounds and three assists in 20 minutes of action as Georgetown improved to 3-0 while the Grenadiers fell to 4-1.
Spikes was 5 of 9 from the field and made one 3-pointer in three attempts. He was 2-for-4 at the free throw line in the Georgetown home contest.
Spikes was one of five Georgetown players to score in double figures, joining Seth Johnson (13), Kyran Jones (12), Rashad Bishop (11) and Drew LaMont (10).
Glenn Hill had 13 points to lead Indiana Southeast.
A true freshman, Spikes had six points, four assists and two rebounds in a season-opening win over Virginia University of Lynchburg last week, but did not score and had two assists in a victory at Park University in Missouri.
Spikes had four points, two rebounds and an assist in Saturday’s exhibition loss at Western Kentucky.
Spikes finished his high school basketball career at No. 6 on the Caldwell County Tigers’ all-time scoring list with 1,434 career points.
He is 10th on Caldwell’s career rebounding list with 537 career boards.
Georgetown is home again on Thursday against Midway University.
