I understand there is a lot about the NIL (name, image and likeness) process that many of us don’t understand and that many fans are not even sure they like.

However, there are some really good things now possible because of NIL changes like having UK basketball players Lance Ware, Sahvir Wheeler and Jacob Toppin partner with White, Greer & Maggard Orthodontics on a toy drive to benefit Sunrise Children’s Services.

“Braces & Basketball Holiday Toy Drive” is a new program designed by WGM to give both their patients and the community in general, the opportunity to brighten the holidays of foster children served by Sunrise Children’s Services, according to the release about the event.

If you donate you will also have a chance to win items signed by the players. For each toy donated at any WGM location and for every $20 donated to Sunnier Children’s Service on its website that includes “Braces & Basketball” in the comments section, the donor gets one entry to win an item signed by Toppin, Ware and Wheeler.

Toys collected will be given to the foster children of Sunrise Children’s Services at a private event with the UK basketball players.

“We could think of no better partner than members of the basketball team to help us in spreading smiles this holiday season. Creating the toy drive to further serve our community and brighten this time of year for the children of Sunrise Children’s Services was a no-brainer. We are excited for our patients and community members to join us in giving back” says Dr. Brent Maggard.

“Every child deserves a reason to smile this time of year. I feel so honored that I can use my position as a college basketball player to bring joy to kids across Kentucky this holiday season. I appreciate WGM asking me to be part of the program and look forward to playing Santa when the donated gifts are presented to the children and families of Sunrise Children’s Services,” Wheeler said in the release about the event.

Information about the program, including an Amazon Wish List, a list of WGM drop-off locations, and a link to donate directly to Sunrise Children’s Services can be found at www.wgmortho.com/braces-and-basketball

The program runs through December 7th.
