Rebels Win Three Quarters in Final Preseason Scrimmage (w/PHOTOS)

Fueled by a strong defensive effort, the Todd County Central Rebels took three of the four quarters in their final preseason scrimmage against the Murray Tigers Tuesday night in Elkton. Murray would end up winning in total points 63-56 thanks to a big first quarter.

The scrimmage was played under game conditions with the score reset at the end of each quarter.

The first quarter was fairly competitive until the waning moments when Murray ripped off 11 straight to lead 26-10. Zavion Carman and Grant Whitaker had big quarters for the Tigers.

The second quarter was all Todd Central until the final couple of minutes. The Rebels jumped out 10-2 and were leading 20-8 late in the quarter when Murray again scored 11 straight to cut the final second-quarter margin to 20-19. Trayvon Foster had seven in the quarter for the Rebels.

The second half of the scrimmage was controlled by the Todd Central defense. The Rebels limited Murray to just 9 points in each of the final two quarters as Todd Central won both the third and the fourth by scores of 13-9. The Rebels held the Tigers to just five field goals over the final 16 minutes of the scrimmage.

Jamison Glass led the Rebels with 19 points, 9 rebounds, and two blocked shots. Trayvon Foster added 17 points. Perez Whitlock had 12 points on four made three-point shots. Preston Rager hit two threes for his six points.

Grant Whitaker and Zavion Carman had 15 points each for Murray.

The Rebels will officially open the season Monday night when they host South Warren.
