Saint Mary freshman Gabby Ault was named the Area 1 cross country runner of the year after a magnificent season saw her finish no worse than sixth place in any race in which she entered in 2022.
Ault was also named the Class A runner of the year. Ault won her first five races of the year and had seven total wins.
Her personal best time came as part of a sixth-place finish at the Daviess County Classic where she covered the 3.1-mile course in 19:37.
Ault won the region title for a third straight year and finished in fourth place at the Class 1A State Meet, missing her personal best time by nine seconds.
