Caldwell Wrestlers Take 3rd at Ohio County Duals

The Caldwell County Tiger wrestling team saw its first tournament action of the season on Saturday, competing at the Ohio County Dual Tournament.

The Tigers placed third overall, going 3-2 in the event. Caldwell was second in its pool.

Caldwell’s matmen defeated Owensboro Apollo 48-36 but lost to Meade County 42-36. The Tigers beat Spencer County 52-27, lost to Ohio County 42-37 then topped McCracken County 54-23.

Turning in 5-0 showings for the day were Cole Sherill at 215 pounds, Logan Brown at 120, Collin Teutsch at 126, Cofy Walls at 132 and Timothy Nichols at 138.

Elijah Kirby was 4-1 at 106 pounds while Jaxon Towery was 4-1 at 190.

Andre Carter went 3-2 at 113 while Aiden Asher was 3-2 at heavyweight.

Caldwell’s wrestlers will be in tournament action at Benton, Ill., this Saturday.

The annual Armstrong Tiger Classic wrestling tournament is coming up at the CAB gym on Saturday, Dec. 17.
