UHA Rebounds by Taking Care of Cane Ridge

After a tough loss to McCracken County Thursday night, the UHA Blazers were looking to get back on track Saturday as they traveled to the Calloway County Shootout to take on Cane Ridge. And get back on track is exactly what the Blazers did.

Led by big days from Elijah Walton and Lemar Northington II, the Blazers took an early lead and never looked back, running past Cane Ridge for a 70-47 win.

Gavin Grubbs and Northing got the Blazers started, combining to score 12 points as UHA jumped out to a 21-7 first-quarter lead. Elijah Walton found his stride in the second quarter, scoring 8 points as the Blazers went into the locker room holding a 33-17 lead.

Walton and Northingon were a very effective 1-2 combination for UHA in the third quarter, scoring 17 points between them, as the Blazers pushed the lead to 54-29.

UHA then cruised on out to the final 23 point margin in the fourth quarter to close out the win.

Elijah Walton was the leading scorer for the Blazers with 22 points. Lemar Northington II was right behind with 21. Gavin Grubbs finished the day with seven points.

Jadin Pugh led Cane Ridge with 11 points.

The Blazers improve to 2-1 on the season. UHA returns to action Monday night when they host Heritage Christian.
