Since his arrival at Kentucky, Vince Marrow has not been one to shy away from the UK-Louisville rivalry.
Think back to March when then Louisville football coach Scott Satterfield poked fun at Kentucky basketball for losing to Saint Peter’s in the NCAA Tournament first round. Marrow told Satterfield to wait until November — and then UK beat the Cardinals again.
Marrow and Kentucky have also dominated recruiting not only in the state, but especially in the city of Louisville recently.
“Love spending the day in Louisville recruiting. Let’s Go,” Marrow tweeted Friday.
With the hiring of Jeff Brohm as Louisville’s new football coach, a rumor started Friday that Marrow might leave Kentucky to coach at Louisville and maybe had even reached out.
A few hours later, Marrow was back on Twitter.
“I’m in Louisville recruiting for the @UKFootball period end of story. Let’s talk about the other good news. Let’s Go,” Marrow tweeted.
The “other good news” had to be the report that former UK offensive coordinator Liam Coen, now the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams, was coming back to UK. However, Marrow obviously got a bit irritated that the “rumor” kept circulating on social media.
“Normally I won’t respond to this crap that I reach out to any college coach for a job is straight BS. I think I’m pretty good at what I do that I don’t have to ask anyone to hire me. My work speaks for itself. This will be the last time I will respond to this crap. Go Big Blue,” Marrow tweeted about six hours after his remark about “end of story.”
Marrow has been approached about other jobs. He might eventually leave Kentucky for another job. But there’s just no way I could ever see him leaving UK for Louisville and no wonder he claimed BS on the rumors.

It’s all about clicks these days. Justin Rowland just wanted to stir the pot. He knew it would make people overreact. It would be a cold day in you no where before Marrow went to Louisville.
I don’t think Marrow is going anywhere, especially to Louisville. That said, the football staff at UK better be very aggressive in their recruiting of in state talent, and especially in the city of Louisville. I also believe Brohm is going to be a big problem for UK both in recruiting and come game time too. He is no Satterfield. He is a hometown boy, and a football family that has a lot of skin in the game at Ole Loserville. Get ready UK. Go Cats!!!
Brohm will make a difference in recruiting in Louisville for sure
Larry are you planning to address the passing of Coach Mike Leach? My heart was saddened to here of his passing today. Life is so fragile. Long live the "Air Raid."
