
Jhaden Vaughn’s putback of a missed shots with four seconds left lifted Trigg County to an 84-82 overtime win at Hickman County Saturday.
Walker McClanahan tied the game with 12 seconds left when he was fouled hitting a driving layup. He missed the free throw and Vaughn grabbed the rebound. He dribbled the length of the floor and missed a shot in the paint. He collected the rebound and stuck the game-winner.
Vaughn scored seven of his 19 points in the overtime period which was the result of Hickman County overcoming a 10-point fourth quarter deficit to send the game to the extra period.
Luke Washer scored 12 of his game-high 29 points in a fast first quarter that saw the Falcons lead Trigg 21-20.
The game was tied 38-38 at halftime. Jerimyah Shearer scored nine of his 15 points in the third quarter as Trigg outscored Hickman 23-13.
Landon Stewart came off the bench to score 13 points as the Wildcats hit 11 three-pointers in the contest.
Isaiah Pettit led Hickman County with 21 points, and McClanahan added 20.
Trigg County won the game at the free throw, hitting 17-of-28 while Hickman connected on just 7-of-22.
Trigg County will host Lyon County Tuesday at Wildcat Gym.
