Former Caldwell County Tiger Derrin Boyd came up big down the stretch for his Lipscomb Bisons Wednesday night.
He had 12 points, four rebounds and an assist as Lipscomb nipped Tennessee Tech 64-63 in Nashville.
Boyd had a three-point play with 1:21 left in the game to tie things at 60-60.

Tennessee Tech then missed two shots in the closing seconds as the Bisons held on for the one-point victory.
Boyd is second on the Lipscomb team in scoring this season at 10.5 points a contest.
Boyd was not the only Caldwell County grad on the floor Wednesday night at Allen Arena. One of the referees was Kelly Davis, who is also a former Tiger. Davis is a 1999 CCHS grad.
Lipscomb is now 7-4. The Bisons have two big games coming up. The team travels to Ann Arbor, Michigan, for a Saturday afternoon game against the Michigan Wolverines. On Tuesday, Lipscomb will visit the Louisville Cardinals.
