Maybe Carrington Valentine is not a man of many words. Or maybe the junior University of Kentucky defensive back knew one word would say it all.
Rumors started circulating that Valentine was contemplating a transfer to Louisville.
He had 48 tackles, including 34 solo stops along with 1.5 tackles for loss and one interception last season. He successfully defended 11 passes and had 10 pass breakups.
Valentine had some rough moments during the 2021 season but he developed into a reliable player last year. He made numerous big plays during the season and with the graduation of transfer cornerback Keidron Smith and figures to be UK’s No. 1 cornerback again going into the 2023 season.
Then rumors started that he might transfer which made no sense. Why leave the SEC where he proved he could play for the ACC or any other conference? Why leave UK for Louisville, a team that has been unable to beat UK recently.
So what did Valentine do?
He just went on twitter and posted, “Nah,” on a thread about his possible transfer.
That brought this response from one UK fan: “Valentine just went into my top 5 favorite current UK players. Buying his jersey now.”
My guess is that his one-word response just might lead to other UK fans doing the same.

Check that, he is transferring…just to the NFL.
